ABOUT ME
MINDY FOX
Polymer Clay Artist
I design and make unique jewelry and other items from Polymer Clay

Hi, I’m Mindy Myers Fox, and I have a passion for working with polymer clay! I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and live in Cherry Hill, NJ, with my husband, Michael.
I started working with polymer clay in January of 1994 when a bad snowstorm left me with many unexpected days off from work. I began experimenting with molds, then moved on to abstract shapes in canes. More recently, I developed what I like to call my present addiction—creating detailed faces in canes. While I primarily make jewelry, I also enjoy crafting other small objects.
Polymer clay is a synthetic, oven-bake modeling material. Unlike natural clay, it’s made from a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) base, allowing it to stay soft and moldable at room temperature. Once baked at a low temperature in a standard kitchen oven, it hardens into a durable form. Available in a wide range of colors, polymer clay can also be blended to create custom shades.
This material can be shaped by hand or pressed into molds to create three-dimensional forms. One fascinating technique, inspired by the ancient Italian art of millefiori glass, involves layering different colors into a cylindrical shape called a “cane.” When sliced, each cross-section reveals a detailed pattern, much like the intricate designs found in sushi rolls or refrigerator cookies. These slices can then be combined to form even more complex creations.
I hope that you enjoy viewing my creations here. Feel free to get in touch if you want to say hello or to request something special for you or a loved one.
